The Sewco Team
We would like to introduce you to the Sewco Sewing and Patchwork Team! Come in and introduce yourself to Lesley and the team the next time you visit the store and share all the wonderful things that crafty and sewing people have in common. And remember, if you have a special request for any product, just ask Lesley or one of her Team and we will all do our best to get it in for you.
Let us introduce you the Sewco Team:
Lesley McDonald started her business in 1994 with a small store at Mt Gravatt selling Janome sewing machines. She has expanded via several moves to one large megastore with one of the largest ranges of patchwork fabrics, sewing gadgets and sewing machines, embroidery machines and overlockers representing all the world’s leading brands.
She is proud of her range of demonstration machines – all on the floor ready to be used to suit a customer with the slimmest budget, or one who wants to compare all the top of the range machines.
A love of sewing from when she was a child led her to this point where she can share her love of sewing with a customer database of nearly 30,000 people. She has combined extensive ranges of all products together with qualified and experienced staff with detailed knowledge and a background in the sewing industry plus a dedication to sharing their knowledge with all customers. She also attends overseas and Australian trade shows and fairs to ensure she carries the latest products and can share the newest world trends with her customers.
“I love working with my team at Sewco where every team member is dedicated to fulfilling customers’ needs,” Lesley says.
“ It is so rewarding to have won awards for customer service, and get positive feedback from our many satisfied customers. I love the fact that I can share so much with customers and interact with them in their sewing lives. We have been told by the leading sewing machine company that we are the single biggest and most successful store in the country. I would like to keep it that way.
“My pleasure comes from being able to share in the fun as people discover the joy of sewing. I love watching the excitement of my customers, who have become my friends, while they learn and experience the many delights of sewing, and knowing that I am helping to enrich their lives through sewing and the friendships they make at Sewco.”
Lesley has dabbled in every aspect of sewing over the years but her real love is fine tailoring. She was thrilled with the discovery of The Pattern Drafter by Maria Martin. This Australian made invention has fulfilled her desire to make beautifully fitted clothing from simple patterns drafted with only 7 body measurements.
All she needs now is more time for her own creativity.
Come in and introduce yourself to Lesley next time you visit the store and share all the wonderful things that crafty and sewing people have in common.
And remember, if you have a special request for any product, just ask Lesley or one of her Team and we will all do our best to get it in for you.
