The Sewco Team has been busy this week

Chevron Quilt Cutting Complete Binding on

We have had a busy week with everyone taking advantage of the brilliant Mothers Day offers that are available at present. Jillan and Sandy have been busy again on Wednesday night working on the Chevron Quilt which we have shown below and for all those that love the slice that Wiasa brings in for Club we have the recipe below for all to enjoy. Monday unfortunately saw Lesley take ill suddenly and end up in hospital requiring emergency surgery, which she had on Tuesday afternoon. We are happy to report to everyone that she is doing well and resting at home. All the Team wishes her a speedy recovery as we miss her smile and laugh here at the store.

Jillan and Sandy were busily sewing away again on Wednesday night and we are please to be posting the next phase of their Chevron Quilt.

Everyone that comes to Club meetings know the wonderful slice that Wiasa brings for us to enjoy.  Well I am happy to let you know that she has give us a copy of her recipe for us all to enjoy.

ELTHAM SLICE

100grams butter

1 tablespoon syrup

½ cup castor sugar

1 cup SR Flour

1 cup coconut

1 cup mixed fruit

1 egg – lightly beaten

A little vanilla

Rind of a lemon grated

In a saucepan melt butter, syrup and sugar.  Allow this to cool and add egg.  Fold in flour, coconut and mixed fruit.

Place in a 20×30 tin and bake on 160 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Once cooled you can ice the slice

– icing is 1 cup icing sugar and a squeeze of lemon until you get a consistency to let it be spread thinly over the slice.
