Sew and Tell this week
We are alway telling people how much we enjoy seeing completed projects and here are two fantastic quilts that we have seen this week. The first was bought into the store by Jean and the other was an email we received from a lady named Kayt showing us a quilt that was completed after Wiasa help her to select her requirements for this quilt.
We have watched Jean working on this absolutely beautiful quilt for awhile now and have admired it everytime it comes into the shop. This week Jean bought it back in completed and with it’s embroidered centre piece and edging and quilted pieces framing the centrepiece, we feel sure that you will agree, it is a work of art.
Here is the wonderful email we received earlier in the week. This Jelly Roll quilt certainly is colourful and with the half heart added it shows the love used to complete this project.
” Hi Guys
A while ago I was commissioned, by the company I work for, to make a quilt for a lady who is very ill. I came to your new shop at the end of the day and bought all the requirements. Weisa, who served me and knows me from our Tamborine Retreat, asked to see a picture of the finished quilt.
As you can see, what started out as a simple 1600 Jelly-Roll Race style quilt, was given some extra attention, and hand-quilted. From start to finish, this quilt took exactly 14 days to make. The recipient was thrilled with it and uses it every day. Kind regards
