Club Membership

Once you have purchased a sewing machine your journey in the world of sewing has just begun.  Sewco Club membership costs $42.50 a year. This membership offers you 10% discount on your in store purchases (excluding cabinets, machines and some software), as well as discount on servicing your machines.

Each month we will be holding a fun get together featuring a special guest presenter.   We may showcase different and exciting products and/or projects depending on the presenter each month. Please check the event calendar to confirm dates each month.


Small Projects

These Hands on classes make a different project each month so you learn a different techniques each time . YOU MUST BE A SEWCO CLUB MEMBER $42.50 a year and a PREMIER CLUB MEMBER $15 extra a year, to come to these FREE classes. YOU MUST BOOK AND BY A KIT FOR THESE CLASSES. We endeavour to keep the kit prices down. We love to share our vast knowledge of different applications in these classes. If you are not a Club Member and wish to join this class there is a cost of $27.50 per class.

Your Choice Patchwork

Bring a patchwork project to this class and we will help you. These are very busy classes so if you need to pin or spray baste a quilt we need to know so we can make room. Only patchwork in this class no home decor or dressmaking. There is limited numbers in the class. so  BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL

Heirloom with Jillan

Jillan will be featuring a variety of Heirloom techniques in these classes, working on various projects throughout the year.  Come along and join Jillan as you creative something magical. Cost of the class is $27.50.

Beginners Quilt

This is a 6 week course to introduce you to quilting, you will learn about using a rotary cutter and ruler safely and correctly. Learn about cutting, piecing, binding, boarders, quilting your finished quilt with the experts. Theresa has had many years experience in teaching quilting and is a award winning quilters.  Cost for 6 weeks is $150. PAYMENT BEFORE CLASS IS CONFIRMATION OF YOU PLACE IN THE CLASS. BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL

Intermediate Quilt

This is a very popular ongoing class and you must have completed as beginners quilt class and this is the follow up class, doing the beautiful Intermediate Quilt. Learn a wide range of different quilting techniques in this class.

 Free Motion Quilting Skills with Theresa

Conquer your fear of free motion quilting. In this class you will learn all the tricks about setting up your machine, try out handy tools and gadgets. Suitable for beginners no experience required.

Patchwork Techniques

During this class you will learn a new and interest information to compliment your Patchwork.  We will feature AccuQuilt Go! Cutter, Creative Grids Rulers, Jelly Rolls and many more techniques to get the most out of your patchwork experience. You will be learning new techniques in all styles of patchwork and quilting.

Bella Garden Quilt by McKenna Ryan

A McKenna Ryan quilt for all of us that love appliqué.  Perfect your fusible appliqué techniques while completing this beautiful project.  Join us each month to complete a new block.  Kits are available.  Block of the Month project – cost of class plus monthly payment for fabric kit and pattern.

Park Bench Quilt

Join us each month to create this beautiful pieced patchwork quilt.  This project is a great way of improving your rotary cutting and piecing skills using the 2 rulers designed by Jaybird Quilts.  An intermediate level of experience is required.

Artistic Edge Digital Cutter class with Theresa –

We are thrilled to finally have the Artistic Edge 12″ in stock with the 15″ arriving soon.  This amazing machine has all the staff at Sewco excited with its WI-FI capabilities, programming and what can you achieve with when using this digital cutter.

Maria Martin Pattern Drafter

Using the system designed by Maria Martin, our experienced teacher Jo, will teach you how to make garments using your own perfectly fitting pattern. Students must have completed their basic block/toile.  You will complete a new project each time.  The 1st block is a skirt, 2nd Shell Top, 3rd Designer Top and 4th Pants, and then onto Jackets.

Kid’s Sewing Classes

There’s no reason for school holidays to become a drag when your children can attend Kids’ Sewing Classes with Jo.
Probably more for the girls than the boys, those aged 8 to 12 will learn how to make a new project each holidays.  Classes every School Holidays, register your interest for the next class.  

I Can Sew Too Classes

This is a class for kids 8-12 years and is designed to teach them both hand and machine sewing as a life skill.  Run monthly on a Saturday afternoon, this is for the kids that enjoy the school holidays classes and want to expand their learning.  Class costs $27.50.

Beginners Sewing  Classes

It is a structured class where you start from scratch and learn all of the fundamentals of sewing you will complete a pair of PJ’ and on the journey will learn how to read a pattern, learn about why understanding the grain of the fabric is so important and so many tips about sewing. There is limited numbers in the class so YOUR PAYMENT ON BOOKING SECURES YOUR PLACE IN THE CLASS. The class is held over 5 consecutive weeks. $155 for the 5 x 3hour classes includes the pattern.

Your Choice Sewing

The Own choice classes in Sewing is a great way to get help with all of your sewing creations.  Jo is a very experienced teachers with Beginners and Owners choice and will help you every step of the way. You must have completed a Beginners sewing course or have a knowledge of sewing and using your sewing machine. These classes are very popular and usually there is a waiting list. So WHEN YOU BOOK YOU MUST PAY FOR YOUR 4 CLASSES @ $100  for AND THAT WILL SECURE YOUR PLACE in the class.


The first class is aimed for the new overlocker owner – or absolute beginner … and the second class aimed for those who want to expand their knowledge of overlockers.

Know your Overlocker 1: Designed to teach all you need to know about basics of your overlocker, and build up confidence. In this class you will learn about threads, needles, cutting blades, threading your overlocker with confidence, tensions, differential feed, correct stitch length, overlocking curves, beginning and ending seams & rolled hems. Everything you need to know to get started on your overlocking journey. FULL DAY WORKSHOP. THIS WILL TEACH YOU ALL THE BASIC TECHNIQUES OF OVERLOCKING AND BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE. THIS IS AIMED AT THE BEGINNER.

Know your Overlocker 2: FOLLOW ON FROM KNOW YOUR OVERLOCKER 1. RECOMMEND CUSTOMER HAS DONE THAT CLASS FIRST. Class will introduce you to new techniques. You will be encouraged to use your machine to its full potential. See how specialized feet and attachments will give a faster and professional finish by using a cloth guide, gathering attachment, blind hem foot and the elastic foot. These accessories were designed to make your overlocking life easier.


Like the Know Your Overlocker classes this is designed to build your confidence using your Babylock overlocker. The Babylock models with innovative Thread Delivery Systems, are the flagship machines on the market and need different specialized attention.  They are very easy to use.

Know your Babylock  1

For Evolution, Evolve, Evolve Wave, Enlighten and Imagine models only. You will learn all about threads, needles, stitch settings, differential feed and the cutting blades. You will also cover in this class some attachments that make the Babylock Overlocking experience the most time saving and efficient on the market.  This class also is designed to make sure you are using your Babylock overlocker to its full potential. Class cost $60.

Know your Babylock  2

Following on from the Babylock 1  – this class will cover further techniques and  introduce you to all the attachments that make the Babylock Overlocking experience the most time saving and efficient on the market.  This class also is designed to make sure you are using your Babylock overlocker to its full potential.   For Evolution, Evolve, Evolve Wave, Enlighten and Imagine models only – AM Session. The afternoon session completes our journey with Chainstitching and Coverstitching, and some special accessories designed just for these applications.   For Evolution, Evolve, Evolve Wave models only – PM Session.



We just love embroidery and it shows in these classes. These classes are for those of you who are new to machine embroidery or those who would like a refresher to catch up with all the wonderful changes in the industry. You will learn the importance of using the correct thread, bobbin fill, stabiliser and needles plus hooping techniques, transferring designs and practical exercises to stitch as you learn all the steps to perfect machine embroidery.

Machine Embroidery Basics

This is an essential class for all new owners of embroidery machines, particularly if you have not got it out of the box yet. We will familiarize you with hooping and transferring designs to your machine as well as understanding threads, needles and stabilizers.  Find out what you must know to get started on your machine embroidery journey.  It will open up the creative world of machine embroidery. Cost is $100 for the 4 class block and BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL.


Mystery Embroidery

Mystery Embroidery is a fun packed class each class you will bring your Embroidery machine and embroider a in the hoop project you will usually finish 1 or up to 3 of these projects in class. We all like to go home with a finished project. This class fills very quickly.  Cost of the class is $27.50.  BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL.

Your Choice Embroidery

No matter the project, whether it be in the INFINITY Quilt of any other embroidery project, come along and join  us in a fun class of like minded people.  Theresa will be there to guide you through your project so that when complete, you will have a work of art.

Sewn Seeds by Hoopsisters

Join us each month to create a beautiful pieced and quilted blocks – all completed on your embroidery machines.  These easy to stitch blocks are suitable for all skill levels and all embroidery machines with hoop sizes 5” x 5” (140mm x 140mm)  or larger.

Finished quilt sizes range from 63” x 63” (5”hoop size) to 112” x 112’ (9” hoop size) – Cost:  $27.50 per class + BOM charge


Janome 15000 Club

This class is for ladies who own the Janome Memory Craft 15000 machine.  Join Theresa as she teaches you all the benefits and features that this amazing machine has to offer.  Cost of each class is $27.50

 Machine Embroidery Techniques

This is a combined special VIP hands-on projects class designed for owners of amazing high end embroidery machines of all models. Discover the wonderful features of these machines offer and learn to get the maximum return for your investment. We’ll make some delightful items throughout the year – learning together through creative play with accessories, feet, fabrics, threads and stitches – and of course, lots of fun and laughs guaranteed. Cost of class is $27.50 per class

Anniversary Quilt

Use your embroidery machine to stitch and embroidery a beautiful quilt designed by Anita Goodesigns.  The embroidery collection used for the this project includes 80 quilt blocks, 7 different flower design groups, over 40 individual designs and 9 unique scalloped borders. The borders are made also made in the hoop so you can complete your very own double wedding ring style quilt to treasure for years to come.   This project is suitable for all experience levels and for all embroidery machines which cater for designs 120mm x 120mm and larger.  Our sample features poppies but there are 6 other flowers for you to choose from – daisies, cherry blossoms, sunflowers, roses, irises or pansies.

      Hi Sally

      We have classes on Wednesday 9.15-12.15 – the next available start date is 19th March (we only have one place left in that class, so be quick if you would like to start that day)
      We have classes on Monday 6-9pm – the next available start date for that class would be 31st March.
      And Tuesday between 6-9pm – the next available start date for this class would be 18th March.
      You need to pay for your 5 classes at the time of enrolment to confirm your place. You will need to pop into the shop to collect your pattern, polytrace and fabric prior to class and receive your requirements list.
      You will need your own machine, but we are happy to loan you one for the first couple of classes if need be. We are happy to assist you to find the right machine for you if you do not own one at present.
      This class is designed for beginners, so we hope to see you in class soon.

      Theresa runs classes most days. A private lesson is $70 per hour and would have to be booked around her teaching schedule. It would be best to call into the store or phone us to arrange this.

      We are currently working on the 2016 class list. The school holiday class will be held in January but we have the Kids Club being held the last Saturday of the November and they are making a Christmas cushion.
