Fun was had by all at Sewing Club this week
A great time was had by everyone on Tuesday morning at the Sewco Sewing Club meeting. Rhonda was at her creative best with both her baby themed sewing project and her “Ducks on a pond” punch which everyone certainly enjoyed sampling. Rhonda was showcasing how to sew bright and colourful nappy covers that can be used not only over cloth nappies but also over disposables to add creativity to any wardrobe.
During Rhonda’s research for club this month she discovered some very interesting facts in regards to the usage of disposable nappies against the cloth nappies (diapers).
Did you know that in the first year of babies life they will use approximately 1800 nappies? That is a huge contribution to landfill and an awful impact on the family budget especially in todays economy.
Did you know that for many disposables nappies are biodegrabable but in order to decompose they need to be exposed to air (oxygen) and sunlight – this is highly unlikely to happen when we put them into landfill.
Now is the perfect time to revert to using cloth nappies as they save on the environment, help with the family budget and with this brilliant range of products you too can be making cute, fun and bright nappy covers that will be the envy of every other Mum when baby is wearing them.
We also had some wonderful items bought in for “Sew and Tell” this week. See the photos below and see if you too can be inspired.
