An Easter message from Lesley
It is amazing how quick this year is going by! Here we are with the Easter Bunny only days away from visiting you and your family. We have had a busy start to 2014 with our 20th Birthday in February, Club Event mornings commencing in February at our new home and loads of classes with lots of new faces.
This Easter I will be busy with my three older grandchildren visiting from Sydney ( I am so excited to be able to have them up in Brisbane). I do hope that you all have the opportunity to catch up with family and friends over the long weekend, that you may not have seen or visited for a long time, but if you are driving over this Easter break, please be careful on the road.
We will be opening the store on Easter Saturday from 9am to 4.30pm, so if you wish to take advantage of the long weekend to complete a project and you have forgotten something, we will be here for you to be able to pop in.
This week Sue and Chris have been busy entering new fabric collections and notions that have arrived from America. There are plenty of new fabric collections and a wide range of new blenders that have arrived for you to browse through. If you are unfortunately unable to come and visit us at the store, Sue has listed these fabrics onto our online store so that you don’t have to miss out on these brillant new additions. Here are just a few of the new fabrics that have arrived this week, just to wet your creative appetite.
I am also happy to announce two new classes that Susan will have the pleasure of teaching. We will be having a Machine Quilting Class on Sunday 25th May from 9.15am – 3.45pm. In this class you will learn how to lay the backing, wadding and quilting the top of your quilt together and how to stitch through all layers. You will also cover how to spray base and pin your quilt as well how to use your walking and free motion feet.
The second class is a Machine Applique workshop being held on Sunday 29th June from 9.15am - 3.45pm and this class will cover learning how to machine applique using vliesofix, satin stitch, buttonhole or blanket stitch and the use of decorative stitches to create applique designs.
Both classes will cost $55 for the day and will fill fast, so contact one of the team on 3849 4176 to enrol in these fun and informative days of learning.
Julie is thrilled to be able to share her love of embroidery with those that are just learning about all the pleasure you can have from learning machine embroidery. The Machine Embroidery Basics classes are held over 4 weeks in a block of 4 lessons and will be held on Thursday 1st May, 15th May, 22nd May and 29th May and we will have two times to choose from. You can either join the 1pm – 4pm class or for those of you who work or prefer an evening class there is a 6pm – 9pm time also available. Cost of the 4 week block of classes is $100.
Due to there being so many public holidays coming up in the next few week the next Snippets will be posted on Friday 2nd May.
