‘Crack Pots’ with Helen Godden
Just a reminder that if you are wanting to attend this two day course with Helen then make sure you book quickly as there are limited places left. The last 2 day class that was held at Sewco with Helen was fantastic and we are sure that this course being held on November 27th and 28th will be filled with lots of fun and colour.
In this fun class and with assistance from Helen on Day 1 students will create their own Crack Pot design. We will cut out of paper, silhouettes of potential pots, vases and bottles and play around with an arrangement of our pot templates. We then add a few elements of magic and we have our design. Students will trace their design using a light box or window and then we paint using Lumiere fabric paints with metallic and pearlescent sheen. By the end of Day 1, students will have finished the painting, sandwiched their design ready to outline stitch the elements.
Day 2, Helen will demonstrate and students will work into their Doodle Diaries, practising on paper, a tonne of new free-motion quilting styles to challenge you and stretch your quilting repertoire. We then jump on our machines and then FMMQ the Crack Pot painted divisions with designs in black thread. The background divisions are then also filled with coloured thread or metallic thread patterns.
Finished work is approx. 50 x 60 cm
