Beginner’s Quilt
Visit the shop before class to pick your fabrics and tools, and to pick up your requirements list. Our experienced staff loves to help pick new quilts, especially with beginners. Beginners Quilt Class builds a solid foundation of quilting skills, including:
- Fabric Choices
- Use of Color
- Care and Keeping of tools
- Strip cutting
- Piecing the Quilt Top
- Choosing batting
- Pinning/Basting
- Quilting
- Binding
- Labelling
Finished Quilt Size: 58” x58” (1.47m X 1.47m)
Beginner’s Quilt runs the first and third Saturday morning of each month and Monday mornings. Beginner’s Quilt may also be completed during a Your Choice class. Please consult our latest calendar for dates. Cost of this class is $150 for 6 weeks, payable before you start the class, though you should feel free to work at your own pace. To make a booking, please ring Sewco at 3849 4176.
Those who are interested may request to make “The Squares Quilt” in beginners class instead of our classic “9-patch Beginner’s Quilt.”
